Three weeks ago I published a post on the new AWS region in New Zealand (AP-SOUTHEAST-6). This led to an incredible opportunity to visit New Zealand, where I met passionate builders and introduced myself at several events, including a meeting without a server and platform, AWS and programming, programming, Cloud Clubs in Auckland and AWS Community Day New Zealand.
During my process of creating content for these presentations, I discovered a useful function in Amazon Q Cli called Tangent Mode. This feature has transformed as I focused on creating conversation checkpoints that allow you to explore the lateral themes without losing the main thread.
This feature is in experimental mode and you can enable it q settings chat.enableTangentMode true
. Try it and see if it helps you.
Start of Last Week
Here are a few launches that caught me:
- The new Amazon Bedrock-Amazon Bedrock Foundation expands the selection of the model with the model Family, Deepseek-V3.1 and Image Services, which are now generally available, providing developers access to powerful multilingual models and advanced image generation.
- Amazon VPC’s Amazon Accessibility analyzer is expanding to seven new regions – network access analyzer is now available in other regions and help customers analyze and eliminate network connection problems across their VPC infrastructure with improved global coverage.
- Amazon Q Developer supports MCP – Amazon Q Developer Remote Servers now integrates with MCP servers (MCP), allowing developers to expand its AI assistance capabilities using its own tools and data sources for improved development workflows.
- The AWS Step features a distributed map with new data sources of step sources represent additional data sources and improved observability functions for the distributed map, making it easier to process extensive parallel workloads with better monitoring and tuning capabilities.
- Amazon Corretto 25 generally available-time-free free, multiplatform distribution OpenJDK 25 is now available, providing Java developers long-term support, improving performance and updating for modern applications.
- Amazon Sagemaker Hyperpod presents the automatic – Sagemaker Hyperpod now supports automatic scaling capabilities, allowing machine learning teams to dynamically modify computing resources based on workload requirements, optimize performance and distributed training costs.
Another update
