AWS Outposts notifications integration of third -party storage with Dell and HPE | Amazon Web Services

Since we announced the bases of the second generation with breakthrough performance and scalability in April in April, we have been innovated on the edge of the cloud on behalf of our customers. Today we are expanding the AWS bases that the integration program to integrate third -party storage includes Dell PowerStore and HPE Alletra Storage MP B10000 and connects to our list of existing integrations with NetAPP storage and pure Flasarray storage. This program makes it easier for customers to use AWS bases with third -party storage fields via native AWS tools. The integration of solutions is particularly important for organizations migrating VMware workload on AWS, which need to maintain their existing storage infrastructure during the transition, and for those who have to meet strict data stay requirements by maintaining their data in the use of AWS services.

Outposts Compute Rack_gen2_front_45This announcement builds on two major milestones integration of the storage that we have achieved in the past year. In December 2024, we introduced the ability to connect data blocking volumes from third -party storage fields to the Amazon EC2 instances on the back directly via the AWS management console. Then in July 2025 we allowed the launch of Amazon EC2 instances directly from these external storage fields. Now, with the addition of Dell and HPE, customers have an even greater choice of integrating their investment in AWS with AWS bases.

Improved storage integration options

Our third -party storage integration supports both data volumes and starts and offers two startup methods: ISCSI SANBOOT and LOCALBOOT. The possibility of ISCSI SANBOOT allows you to read and read and read volumes, while Localboot supports the volumes of starting only for reading by ISCSI or NVME-Over-TCP protocols. With this comprehensive approach, customers can centrally manage their storage sources while maintaining a consistent hybrid experience provided by the bases.

Through the Amazon EC2 instance guide in the AWS management, customers can configure their instances to use external storage from any of our supported partners. For launching volumes we provide AMIS verified AMIS for Windows Server 2022 and Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9, with automation scripts available through AWS samples to simplify the setting process.

Support for different base configurations

All third -party storage integration functions are supported on 2U servers and both generations. Support for the basics of the second generation of RESGS means that customers can combine the increased performance of our latest EC2 instances on their backs-including double the PCP, memory and network widths-with their preferred storage solutions. Integration works without problems with both our new abilities of simplified network scaling and specialized instances of AMAZON EC2 designed for ultra -low latency and highly transmittance.

What to know

Customers can start using these abilities today with their existing base deployment or when ordering new foundations through the AWS management console. If you are using third -party storage integration with Outposts, you can either have your staff in place or a third -party IT provider, install the servers for you. After the base servers are connected to your network, AWS remotely provides calculation and storage sources, so you can start the app. For bases on bases, this process includes settings where AWS technicians verify the conditions of location and network connection before installing and activating the stand. Storage partners help with implementation of third -party storage component.

Integration of third -party storage for bases with all suppliers of compatible injuries is available without further fee in all AWS regions where bases are supported. The latest list of supported regions can be found at FAQS for servers and bases.

This extension of our third -party integration program shows our continuing commitment to provide flexible hybrid cloud solutions for corporate classes and to meet customers where they are on your cloud migration.
