New Amazon EC2 M8A instances are now available in general Amazon EC2 M8A | Amazon Web Services

Today we announce the availability of the instances of Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) M8A, the latest addition to the family instance family. These instances are powered by the 5th generation AMD EPYC (CODENAME TURIN) processors with a maximum frequency of 4.5 GHz. Customers can expect up to 30% higher performance and up to 19% better price performance compared to M7A instances. They also provide a higher memory bandwidth, improved network throughput and storage, and flexible configuration options for a wide set of accounting workloads.

Improvement in M8A
The M8A instances provide up to 30% better power on VCP compared to the M7A instances, which makes them ideal for applications that require high performance and high permeability, such as financial applications, playing, rendering, application servers, simulation modeling, medium -sized data stores, application development environment.

They provide 45% more memory width compared to M7A instances, accelerate databases in memory, distributed cache and real -time analytics.

For high I/O workloads, M8A instances are provided by up to 75 Gbps of the bandwidth and 60 Gbps width of the Amazon Elastic Block Store (AMAZON EBS), 50% improvement compared to the previous generation. These improvements are supported by modern applications that rely on fast data transmission and low latency network communication.

Each M8A instance corresponds to the physical core of the CPU, which means there is no simultaneous multithreading (SMT). In application benchmarks, M8A instances delivered up to 60% faster performance for Groovyjvm and up to 39% faster Cassandra performance compared to M7A instances.

The M8A instance supports the bandwidth (IBC), which provides flexibility in the allocation of resources between the network bandwidth. This provides customers with up to 25% flexibility to customers by up to 25%, and improved database performance, processing and logging speed.

M8a is available in ten virtualized sizes and two bare metal options (Metal-24xl and Metal-48xl)Providing the deployment options that spread from small applications to a large business load. All these improvements are based on AWS Nitro, which provides low virtualization, consistent performance and advanced security in all sizes of instances. These cases are created using the latest AWS Nitro cards of the sixth generation that interpret and speed up I/O for functions and increase the overall performance of the system.

M8A instances contain up to 192 VCPu with 768GIG RAM. Here are detailed specifications:

When to use instance M8A
M8a is strong suitable for general applications that require balance with calculation, memory and network. The M8A instances are ideal for hosting web and applications, micro -service architecture and database, where predictable performance and efficient scaling are important.

These instances are certified SAP and are also suitable for business workload, such as Financial Applications and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP). They are also effective for cache between storage in the cache and management of customer relationships (CRM), in addition to the development and test environments that require cost efficiency and flexibility. With this versatility, the M8A supports a wide range of workload while helping customers to improve price performance.

Now available
The Amazon EC2 M8A examples are available today on the AWS US West regions (OHIO) US WEST (Oregon) and Europe (Spain). The M8A instance can be purchased as on request, economical plans and instance of the spot. The M8A instance is also available from reserved hosts.
